Honestly, Mary

Hello, hello, hello!!! 🙋🏽It’s been a while (a month and 8 days to be exact) since my last post. I had to step back for a second to get some personal things in order. I’ll give some details about that shortly but I must say... Man, I’ve missed this! Don’t get me wrong, I’ve still been writing of course, but I hadn’t been writing much to share, not yet at least lol...

One reason I stepped away was to get my mental health in order, or at least start the process. Let me be yet another person to say it is VERY important to take care of your mental health. It’s everything! I’ve been practicing mindfulness, meditation, the law of attraction, learning more about Feng Shui, & other ways to have more positive thoughts and vibes. Let me also be another person that stresses that fact that if you are battling over whelming thoughts or emotions, please seek out help. There is NOTHING to be ashamed of for doing so. Speaking to someone who can help you get things under control is for your betterment. There are even some free services available to people in need.

*If you feel you would like to look into any of that then please let me know! I’m willing to help!

Another reason I took a minor break was to focus more on my schooling. Did I tell y’all I was in school?! 🤔 Well yea! Lol I am! And I was trying to juggle so much! School (homework), blog, work, kids, my business, my personal life... just a pile of things on my plate. Listen, life has a buffet of stuff for you to pile on your plate but what I am tryin to do is learn how not to! So I had to eliminate a couple of things in order to focus on other things. This was hard to do because each thing on my plate was there for a reason, especially this blog! But hey! I passed my last class with a B+ 👏🏽👏🏽 so I’m satisfied for sure! Lol I’m on to another class now and because I eliminated something else, I’m able to pick this back up! So excited about that! & I’m even more excited about the post I have coming next week! A sneak peek pic is below on the topic. After you read it, write me and give me your thoughts! I’m still gathering input on the topic so please share!

Like I mentioned above, I have been trying to become more positive by using several methods. The two that I've been focusing on more are mindfulness and law of attraction. With these two, I am hoping to be able to achieve my goal of thinking more positive thoughts and speaking better things over my life and those around me. I would like to share this with you! Since I'm just starting out, to become more disciplined, I want to do a 30 day challenge starting TODAY (November 12, 2017)! I did some searching in Pinterest and found some great tools to use to achieve this 30 day challenge. To start, we will need to have a journal to write down things. You can buy a $1 journal from the dollar tree (& some very cute pens too). Or, if you are a TRUE millennial who loves to put everything in your phone, you can surely use your notepad app too. But we want to use this journal to track our daily affirmation as well as our End of Day (EOD) gratitude / reflection thoughts. The morning affirmations should be done BEFORE any distractions. This is where I would suggest writing down the affirmation the night before to avoid the use of your phone in the morning to not be tempted to venture off to social media or email. If you do use your phone, just be sure to go ONLY to where you will see the daily affirmation. A suggestion would be using the link below and saving the site on to your home screen (iPhone people) or to just book mark it and go directly to it. For 3-5 minutes, focus on the affirmation. Repeat it to yourself over and over, aloud or in your head. While doing so, focus on your words. Breathing in and out, feel the words and believe them (this is meditation). Keep them with you all day. When you have idle moments or moments of weakness, repeat them to yourself throughout the day in order to strengthen the words. For 3-5 minutes at night, we will focus on 3 (or more) positive things that happened to use during the day. This could be something as simple as "stranger held door for me and said good morning" then reflect "this was a great start to my morning, made me smile and feel happy." This process will cause us to look more for good things throughout the day and attach a feeling to it. Attaching the feeling to your positive thing intensifies that emotion (energy) & can have more of that to come. I will be posting daily on my social media accounts so if you do not follow me I will also leave that information below. I REALLY hope you join in on this 30 day challenge with me. There are only good things that can come out of it...
