*bonus post*
Have y’all seen that movie “Dude where’s my car” when the Asian lady keeps saying “and thennnn”?! If not, first of all, how old are you?! Second of all, see it! Lol it’s a funny movie. But as she continues to say “and then” Ashton Kutcher’s character repeats “no and then”. They go back and forth until it plays out and move along.
What does this have to do with anything you may ask... well I’ll tell you! Often times when recounting a story, we’ll say “and then...” or the person we’re telling the story to will ask “and then what happened”. It’s like we’re always ready for the next ball to drop. For the next big climax to be told. The poem I wrote below was when I had an “& then” moment. But mine comes from a place of moving on or letting go. Like I mentioned on the previous post, I’ll just be uploading some poems the next few post just to get back in the routine of my post while still sharing some thoughts and feelings with you all. I’ll resume the normal stuff soon enough tho, just waiting to take another iron off the fire lol. Continue reading below for my “& then”
& then... I hung up I cried Not hard, but tears did roll I laid there, no, not for long I texted you, but you didn’t text back I watched tv but that hurt too, ended up falling asleep When I woke up, my head was hurting My eyes were still wet Can you cry in your sleep? I think I did. Checked my phone, you had called so now we’re here No, I’m not ok Yes, I do miss him Yea I kno, I’ll forget him soon enough No, I’m not ready to date Nope. I don’t want a team Yea, I’m sure Ahaha, you’re right. He’s a dumbass Yea, but I still love him I think so, I was in love with him Yea, I know it won’t be easy, Thanks for always being here I appreciate that, you might be right, I am stronger than what I give myself credit for Yea, ima be ok Ahaha, not today, maybe not tomorrow either, but I WILL be ok! I love you too! Yup, AND THEN he said he didn’t know Oh yes! I have the receipts! Lol Yea, well, it’s not going to be easy, but I’ll be ok AND THEN, when I am! Oh baby! Right! He’ll be back! But! By then! AND THEN! I’ll be long gone...
Honestly,
MARY
